Steel Sculpture Loewe Amazon Handbag.
It is located inside the historic establishment of Gran Vía 8, the oldest store of the brand, open to the public in the capital since 1939.
From this autumn, the lower floor of this emblematic store will be transformed into a gallery in which various artistic installations and interactive experiences designed for the delight of the senses will discover the history, tradition and sensual charm of the firm, considered as one of the main exponents of Spanish luxury.
The Galería Loewe space in Madrid has eight different areas, each dedicated to a specific aspect of the 167 years of artisan mastery, exhibiting the skins and the most iconic products of the firm and telling the story of its continuous evolution.
The artist Jordi Díez has created a large steel sculpture of the Amazona bag -the most emblematic model of the firm-, which presides over the entrance to the establishment. Inspired by the art collections exhibited in the museums of Madrid, this sculpture places the aesthetics of the Amazon bag in the context of its Spanish cultural heritage, at the same time as it illustrates the process of hand-crafting one of Loewe’s flagship bags.
